Vórablót, Úlfar aff Jera Þjóð, April 26th
The Úlfar aff Jera Þjóð will be celebrating Vórablót (Spring-blot) on Saturday, April 26th in Washington, NH at Skógafell. Vorablot is a modern holiday practiced by the Úlfar aff Jera Þjóð based upon Swedish, and neighboring Finnish, folklore concerning Sjöfn being a goddess of love, spring, and new growth. In folklore, great bonfires are lit during summer’s beginning (our Spring) to give honor to her and to help bring good harvest. Sjöfn helps to awaken Jörð, much like in nearby Finland where Suvetar helps to awaken Manutar. We also receive the youthful blessings of new life from Idun. This will be in the fórn (votive offering) style of offering to the northern gods of our folk.

Miðsummer, Úlfar aff Jera Þjóð, June 21st-22nd
The Úlfar aff Jera Þjóð will be having their Miðsummer celebration from Saturday June 21st through Sunday the 22nd. There will be plenty of tenting space for those who want to stay overnight (it’s actually encouraged!).
Miðsummer Blót is a traditional, Greater Hátíð, (during the Summer Solstice, around June 21st) which honors the summer and all of the gods and goddesses collectively. Again, this is because of the reason that all of the gods and goddesses should be worshipped together is due to a myth given to us by Saxo Grammaticus’ Saxonis Gesta Danorun. Great bonfires, feasts, and games will occur!

10 years ago, an idea was born. What has grown from that has been nothing less than amazing.
Once again, this August, the Northeast Asatru
community will come together to honor our gods and our
ancestors. We will come together to strengthen bonds
formed with friends we have made in the past, and
watch as those first-time attendees realize the joy of
spending a weekend with so many others of like mind.
We will learn, we will laugh. And then we will laugh
some more.
Raven Kindred North is honored to host this year's
event, and we will do our best to make it a memorable
one.
The particulars regarding dates and registration
costs, as well as other details of the event, may be
found at:

Hope to see you all at ECT 2008!
